Fun Activities to Do With an Infant
- Fresh air can do everyone some good, even an infant. Spend time enjoying a picnic, taking a walk, or swinging together on a park swing. Help your baby experience his surroundings by putting his feet in the grass, or watch him become captivated by the sound of the birds singing. The most simple activities will capture your baby's attention and help to awaken his senses.
- Hold a private concert by playing an assortment of music. Dance with your baby and sing along with your favorite song. All babies love the interaction of singing and dancing, even if it isn't to a classic children's song. Not only will you begin to broaden his musical horizons, but you will also spend quality time together.
- Infants are sponges to everything around them, including everything you say. Brush up on a foreign language, or learn a new one entirely. Television and audio programs make it easy to not only learn a new language, but teach your baby one as well. Repeat common words and phrases to your infant often to have a greater impact on his ability to say them on his own when he's older.
- Infants become engaged with sights and sounds, so take advantage of this by creating your own story to share. Start a scrapbook of your baby's life beginning with wedding photos of you and your spouse. Add to the story with more photos and captions as your baby gets older. Not only will he enjoy hearing you read his personal story to him while he's small, but it will become a treasured keepsake when he gets older.
