There are so many activities that children want to engage in that as parents make us cringe, especially when it might be costly and messy. What if it was possible to combine paint ball with blaster toy play, in a completely mess-free way, so that the entire family could play together?

Splatoon is one of Nintendo's newest games for WiiU, which will allow players of all ages a way to engage in virtual paintball play in several ways, alone, with family members in the comfort of their living room as well as online with opponents anywhere.

 Splatoon involves 3 different types of game play, single play story mode battle dojo play, and turf war play. All 3 games include a lot of strategy, while the ultimate goal is to not maliciously aim to blast opponents directly but to recruit skill and resources in order to outwit an opponent to re-claim as much territory as possible.

Inklings, the animated characters within the game, live in Inkopolis. Each inkling has the ability to transform into a squid. This provides them with additional strategy, because as a squid, players can re-load their ink, hide from the bad guys in order to plan their defeat and even find secret shortcuts. Inklings also have customizable clothing and use of "weapons" that include splat bombs, sprinklers and splat rollers. There are also special items that can be unlocked such as "Inkzookas." In every game, players will need to cover as much territory with their own color, because trying to walk in an opponents color with dramatically reduce their life.
