    • 1). Set a good example for your child. The best way to teach your child how to deal with anger is to lead by example. Tell your child that anger is healthy but that how we show anger is important. Encourage him to talk to you when he is feeling angry and to use words to solve problems.

    • 2). Teach your child ways to cool off. Redirect her thoughts to something pleasant through deep breathing exercises. Tell your child to get in a comfortable position and take slow deep breaths. This will help your child relax and focus on peaceful things.

    • 3). Adopt a pet. Pets are wonderful stress reducers for children and adults. They can provide children with non-judgmental emotional support.

    • 4). Encourage your child to exercise daily. Exercise can reduce stress and anxiety in your child and increase self-esteem. Go for a walk or bike ride with your child and make physical activity a part of his daily life.

    • 5). Instill empathy in your child. Teach her to be compassionate and forgiving of others. Empathy can help your child feel less angry and frustrated by allowing her to understand the world from another person's view. This will motivate her to treat others kindly based on that understanding.
