    Using a Meat Flavor Injector

    • 1). Prepare your uncooked meat. Season your turkey, chicken, beef or pork and place it in the appropriate pan. Also, prepare your marinade or sauce in a small bowl and set aside.

    • 2). Wash the injector before use. Apply a dime-sized amount of dish washing liquid on a sponge and gently wash the injector. With many injectors, the plunger (object used to push the marinade into the meat) can be removed. Rinse it out and make sure it dries completely.

    • 3). Place the needle of the injector into the marinade. Gently and slowly pull up the plunger. Some injectors have measurements along the sides, indicating how much liquid it holds. The measurements can vary on different injectors.

    • 4). Insert the needle deeply into the meat and push down on the plunger to distribute the marinade. You can place the injector anywhere in the meat but it is recommended that you marinade the meat at different angles to spread the flavor throughout the entire piece of meat or poultry. Make sure you don't hit any bones when injecting a whole chicken or turkey.

    • 5). Look over the meat to make sure you haven't missed any areas. To clean the injector, push out any remainder marinade and remove the plunger. Use dishwashing liquid and a sponge to wash.
