How to Glue Cracked Baking Stoneware
- 1). Scrub the broken edges with a toothbrush and a drop of dishwashing liquid. Rinse them well and allow them to dry completely.
- 2). Fill a container larger than the broken stoneware two-thirds full of dry rice.
- 3). Squeeze a dime-sized amount of white glue onto a paper plate. Dip an unused, disposable paintbrush in the glue.
- 4). Paint a medium-thick coat of glue down one of the broken edges.
- 5). Press the other piece of stoneware against the glued edge. Wiggle the edges gently until you feel them lock into place.
- 6). Hold the stoneware together for 10 minutes, then gently lay it in the rice-filled container to finish drying overnight.
- 7). Scrape away any glue residue with your fingernail or a razor blade. Wipe the surface of the glued stoneware with a damp sponge.
