How to Make a Watertight Connection With an Anti-Siphon Valve
- 1). Turn off the water supply.
- 2). Unscrew the valve from the pipe connections.
- 3). Wind the Teflon tape around the threaded valve-to-pipe connections one or two times. More than this will make the connection less watertight, not more so.
- 4). Screw the valve back into the pipe tightly by hand. Tighten the connection one to two more turns with a wrench, but do not overtighten, as this can weaken the connection.
- 5). Turn the water supply back on and check for additional leaks.
