Trimming a Wig That Is Too Thick
- 1). Divide the wig into thin sections. This is easiest if the wig is placed on a wig head or if you have a person willing to wear the wig while you trim it. Separate the wig into sections as though you were going to put it in to rollers. Secure each section with a hair pin.
- 2). Trim the hair. Start underneath the top section of hair. Cut the hair out right where the hair meets the weft. Be certain not to trim the top of the hair. You want to leave the top layer of hair intact so it will cover the parts of hair you have cut and lay flat.
- 3). Trim another section. Repeat Step 2, remembering to leave a section of hair untouched in between each layer that you cut. Continue trimming the wig until you reach the desired thickness.
