How to Sugar Coat & Freeze Grapes
- 1). Pour one cup of water into a large saucepan. Add 1/2 cup granulated white sugar to the saucepan.
- 2). Heat the mixture on medium heat. Stir the mixture frequently until the sugar dissolves and thickens into a syrup.
- 3). Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool. Pour the mixture into a container and refrigerate the syrup for 30 minutes.
- 4). Place one pound of seedless grapes in a colander and rinse them under cold water. Shake the colander to remove the excess water and wrap the grapes in a paper towel until they are dry.
- 5). Remove the stems from the grapes. Place the grapes on a cutting board. Slice each grape in half lengthwise.
- 6). Place the grapes in a container. Remove the syrup from the refrigerator and pour it over the grapes until they are thoroughly coated.
- 7). Place the lid on the container and place the grapes in the freezer. When you want to use the grapes, warm them in a saucepan on low heat to defrost them.
- 1). Place 40 large green grapes in a colander. Wash the grapes in cool water to clean off any dirt or pesticides.
- 2). Remove the stems from the grapes and place the grapes in a container. Place the container in the freezer and freeze the grapes for about 15 minutes.
- 3). Add 1/3 cup of egg whites and 1/8 tsp. of lemon juice to a bowl. Whisk the egg whites and lemon juice until the mixture becomes frothy.
- 4). Add the frozen grapes to the bowl. Stir the grapes so they are thoroughly coated. Pour the grapes and mixture into a colander to strain them.
- 5). Place two cups of granulated sugar in a container. Add the grapes, close the lid, and shake the grapes around to coat the grapes in the sugar.
- 6). Remove the grapes and place them in a serving glasses. Serve the grapes immediately.
