8 Most Brilliant Multi-Halo Engagement Rings
First of all, a halo is a grouping of smaller stones, which surrounds a larger one. I like to think of a halo as an aura—thus, a “halo” of sparkling light around the sparkling stone in the center. Popular in engagement rings since the 1920s, halos have had a huge resurgence, with many modern brides asking for halo betrothal rings. One obvious reason is that, when the halo of smaller gems surrounding the center larger stone is the same gem color as the focal-point gem--most in bridal being colorless or white diamonds--that stone appears to look even bigger than its actual carat size.
A big, big trend in halo engagement rings is the double- and the triple-halo, whereby two or more "circles" of stones add even more dazzle to one's already brilliant diamond. I’ve seen some incredibly beautiful designs--many more coming out this year than ever before--and, here, I’m sharing with you, some of the best.
