Feed a crowd with pasta stuffed with meatballs, salami and cheese
In the 1996 film Big Night, two Italian brothers, a restauranteur and a chef, anxiously await the arrival of jazz singer Louis Prima at their struggling restaurant. In Prima's honor, one of the most-remembered dishes on the menu is Il Timpano, a baked pasta dome layered with penne, meatballs, eggs, salami and cheese. (It's also called timballo in some regions of Italy.) The recipe requires some effort and time to prepare, but it's perfect for your own big night or holiday party when you want to feed a hungry gathering.
