A consistent golf swing seems to be difficult for most golfers to obtain, but it may not be as daunting a task as we believe it to be. Most golfers focus the majority of there energy on golf swing mechanics and finding that magical set of irons or driver that will elevate their game to a new level. While having the proper equipment is important, it will not guarantee a repeatable and consistent golf swing. Because the golf swing is completed in such a short amount of time, having a consistent swing thought is crucial to executing a repeatable golf swing.

The tension free golf swing is a very elusive beast to find. However, once you find it, you'll wonder how you could ever play golf without it. You'll feel more relaxed throughout your entire round, you'll feel less exhausted, you'll be happier with your scores, you'll hit the ball straighter and more accurately, and you'll lose a few strokes as well. The culprit to tension in your golf swing is tight, inflexible muscles. Nothing more, nothing less. Simple golf stretches can solve this problem. Do not take more lessons or hit more balls! Break your golf swing down to phases like take-away, top of the backswing, halfway down, halfway through and finish, then implement a simple golf stretch for each position. At address, try not to be too tense. Common areas to look out for are your grips, arms, shoulders and legs. Loosen you grip if you are gripping too tight. Gripping to tight only tense up the fingers, the wrist and the arms. Try to relax with the grip. Use only enough strength to hold the club without it flying out of your hands.
