While Chasing The Ever Elusive ABS 6 Pack, Sugar Became My Foe

63
I think that I've always been attracted to the look that comes with a well toned mid-section.
The depth of the lines in those core areas that separate the individual muscles and give that 'look' that many of us crave, have gotten me into way to many close encounters of the wrong kind.
My compulsion with ABS is what keeps me in the fitness arena and continually fuels my interest in searching for easier ways to accomplish the coveted look on my own god given body.
So far, I've only managed to keep my stomach flat.
My personal food challenge is Sugar.
Cupcakes, chocolate and other powdery confections are what keeps a level of fat covering my otherwise muscular frame.
The abdominal definition I seek is directly related to the amount of sugar I give in to on a weekly basis.
Alas, I must confess that I am a sugar addict! This is exactly what the creators of our foods want.
A public of sugar addicts unaware of the cause of the addiction.
Sugar, it seems is one of those ingredients that is hidden in so many foods it's no wonder we don't realize how much we ingest daily.
My sugar preferences are obvious but what about the other not so obvious things like, breads, meats, ketchup, canned fruits, and some canned vegetables.
The corporations are required to inform us about the contents and amounts of sugars used in their products but, as with all things, they have found the loop holes to keep us in the dark about the true amounts of sugars that we may consume when we eat many of their packaged products.
Reduction of the serving size is often used by manufacturers as a way of reducing the calories per serving.
As a consequence, if the amount of fat, sugar or other nutrient falls below 0.
5 gram per serving, the manufacturer may round it to zero.
The word "sugar" is defined as: 1) Sucrose which is a white crystalline sweet carbohydrate normally extracted from sugar cane and sugar beet.
Manufacturers can claim that a product is "sugar free" if it contains less than 0.
5 grams of sugar (sucrose) per serving.
However, it can still contain other sweet carbohydrate mixtures such as molasses, dried cane juice, cane concentrate, high fructose corn syrup, or a variety of sugar alcohols like erythrol, mannitol, xylitol, etc.
2) A generic term that includes any of a class of water-soluble carbohydrates with various degrees of sweetness.
I've read enough to know that genetics play a large role in a persons ability to look like a sports god.
But hard work has paved the way for many others so why not for me.
Sugar addictions aside I mean.
