4 Questions and 4 Easy Steps to Quit Smoking

90
One of the most common New Year resolutions is 'to quit smoking'.
Every day hundreds of people decide to quit smoking forever but hardly two percent of them would be successful.
It is not that people do not understand the ill effects of smoking, but they fail to quit it.
What do you think could be the reason for this? One needs to be mentally strong and determined to quit smoking 9or any other bad habit), which many people lack and thus fail to quit smoking and the other bad habits.
Then why do you think hypnosis work? Hypnosis is concentrated relaxation.
It allows a person to relax, while focusing on a particular problem or desired result.
Through hypnosis a person can communicate with his subconscious mind and make positive suggestions.
The subconscious mind cannot understand the difference between reality and imagination.
That us why when you imagine yourself as a non-smoker, your subconscious mind will accept that as reality.
By reprogramming your subconscious mind you can change your habit.
Now, you know hypnosis works but what do we do next? You have decided that you want to quit smoking but before you start your expedition to quit smoking, you need to ask few questions to yourself to understand why did this habit develop? What do you crave for? And why you become addicted to smoking? Ask yourself the following 04 questions and make sure that your answers are specific (not vague).
So, let's go now:
1.
Why do I smoke?
Your possible answers could be 'I smoke because I feel alone; or I smoke because my friends do; or I smoke because I want to pretend like a gentleman; or I smoke to show-off' etc.
the reason could be anything.
All you need to know most importantly is to find out that reason.
2.
When do I smoke the most?
Now that you have found the reason why you smoke, the second thing you need to discover is the time when you smoke the most.
Your possible answers could be 'I smoke more when I am alone or depressed; or I smoke more when I am stressed; or I smoke more when I need to concentrate on something; or I smoke when I am in the company of friends who smoke too much' etc.
you need to find out the answer to this.
Once you have identified the reason behind your smoking and time, the best and the easiest thing that you can do is, divert your attention away from smoking.
Involve yourself in some other tasks during that particular time.
3.
Why do I want to quit smoking?
You need to answer yourself as why you really want to quit smoking.
Your possible answers could be because your spouse or fiancé or son or daughter wants you to quit, your personal desire or doctor's advice.
Hypnosis only works if you truly want it to work.
You and only you must have the desire to achieve your goals.
Someone else wanting those goals for you isn't a good enough reason.
4.
What do I get out of smoking?
You need to ask yourself, what do you get out of smoking? Do you drive any kind of pleasure out of it? If you receive pleasure from smoking, what type of pleasure do you drive? Write down what you like about smoking, because you need to formulate a quit smoking hypnosis suggestion that turns the pleasure you get into a negative.
