General Rules to a Fatty Liver Disease Diet

56
A fatty liver disease diet can reverse a liver condition, which is a disease that occurs when too much fat accumulates in the liver. When these fats, triglycerides, replace the liver cells through steatosis (abnormal retention of lipids in the cell), a person is diagnosed with fatty liver. According to various studies, fatty liver can be treated with a proper diet.

The target of a fatty liver disease diet should be the underlying causes behind the condition - alcoholic or non alcoholic. Nonetheless, there are common foods that should be avoided when you have fatty liver.

Avoid High Glycemic Foods
Foods that are high glycemic actually increase the blood sugar in a fast manner. They are also associated with fatty liver. What are examples of these foods? White rice, white bread, cereals, and concentrated sugar. Those who have a high glycemic diet may have twice as much fat in their bodies, blood stream or livers compared to those have a low glycemic diet, or those who consume more vegetables, fruits, beans, and unprocessed grains.

Take More Vegetables and Legumes
As long as your vegetables are not mixed with oils or dressings, then you can eat as much as you want per day. Of course, it would be better to choose the fresh ones. If you want to eat a salad per day, make sure that the dressing made is at a controlled amount and that it contains healthy fats. You can also try adding beans to your rice or burrito.

Avoid Oils, Alcohol, and Other High Calorie Foods
You should not take too much of oils and other high calorie foods. Oils that are healthier include olive oil, and should thus be a better option. Decrease and regulate as well the consumption of junk food, sweets like cakes and ice cream, alcohol, and even cola drinks. They should not be consumed every day. If you want to eat sweets, opt for fruits like apples and grapes.

Choose Lean Protein and Whole Grains
Instead of eating too much pork and beef, try lean meats, soy, and seafood. It might also be better to take brown rice, whole wheat pasta, and whole grain bread instead of white and processed grains.

With these, you can surely be guided in your fatty liver disease diet.
