How to cure anxiety is a vital question to consider if you have an incessant urge for cigarettes.
A high need for tobacco, can mask anxiety which keeps you smoking like a chimney, and destroying your life in the process.
I am sure you have eaten the occasional chocolate or opened a bottle of wine or reached for a cigarette to help you unwind? This is not the problem.
However, when we continually rely on smoking as a crutch, it turns into a problem because no amount of nicotine can cure the anxiety that goes unrecognised! If anxiety is not permanently dealt with, it can turn into panic, phobias or depression.
Identifying when you smoke, can help you address how to cure anxiety.
Are you aware of when you are anxious? See if any of these apply to you: Do you reach for a cigarette the minute you wake up in the morning? Maybe smoking is distracting you from facing things you may find difficult? When you are upset do you smoke? Do you feel as if you cannot "breathe" without a cigarette? There are always more solutions available to us than we are aware of.
A couple of suggestions for learning how to cure anxiety are as follows: 1.
List the stresses in your life.
Ask yourself what has upset you? When you crave a cigarette, STOP.
Are you feeling angry or sad? Honour your feelings and you may find you don't need to resort to smoking.
2.
Deal with problems as they arise.
Just take one issue at a time and find an appropriate solution.
