Dozens of years of study and medical expertise have shown how much obesity is detrimental to health. The expenses to contemporary society in the US is staggering and draws near several hundred billion dollars every year. What appears contradictory is the billions that are also used on weight loss products on a yearly basis. So there appears to be a battle that is being waged for our good health. Several culprits that only aggravate this state of affairs are corporations that create processed foods and unhealthy drinks. The main issue with so many foods and drinks is they contain poor varieties of fat and are packed with sugar. We only have room for a few of the hazards due to obesity.

One of the most serious consequences of obesity is type 2 diabetes, and a lot more new occurrences appear annually. More younger individuals in their teenager years are chronically overweight, and doctors are witnessing an upward spiral with type 2 diabetes. Obesity is known to cause insulin resistance which is substantial and a precursor to higher levels of blood glucose. There is little doubt that years of ingesting high sugar content food items and drinks plays a significant role. For years, various warnings have been made about the use of high fructose corn syrup in numerous soft drinks and other popular beverages. Normal white sugar is bad enough, but high fructose corn syrup is extremely sweet and harmful with long term consumption.

Other serious disorders which have been often seen consist of damage to certain joints in the body. Obviously the bottom extremeties bear the most stress, and so it is sensible that obese people have hip and knee joint difficulties. When the joints have so much wear and tear, they will create other severe issues such as arthritis. Patients with excessive weight problems do not always make for the best prospects for man-made joints. While millions of people get joint replacements, there is a higher chance for good results with typical weight conditions. But for those who could gain from it yet are obese, this is simply not always encouraged. At the very least it's rather a risky procedure because the heavy weight on the artificial joint can cause difficulties. The threat here is the large load on the artificial joint could cause it to be unstable.

There is elevated risk for acquiring blood pressure conditions when a person is obese. The problem with possessing so much weight is it badly strains the entire body. The existence of so much fat is simply a huge demand for oxygen which is furnished by the blood. So that in turn causes the heart to work much harder so it can provide what is needed. The high blood pressure is actually due to this additional demand caused by the extra weight. In addition to the high blood pressure, the heart rate will be much higher as well.

It is very clear that obesity is a condition that severely impacts all functions of the body. But our discussion here today is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to all that is possible.
