Prepare to stumble many times before you get this down. It is one that takes practice and determination. Patience and a calm stance. You will be training muscles to hold you in this position that don't usaully work this way. So give yourself time. - 2
Make sure that you pay attention to your core. It is in the center of your body that you will find balance and strength. Start with eyes open and hold one foot up while standing on the other. Practice this for awhile until you feel comfortable. - 3
Now once you've got that down brace yourself and lift the foot up again. You can hold your foot crossed in front of you if comfortable and close your eyes pay close attention to the muscles in your arches this is going to shift and you need to draw strength from your core. Focus your mind on stillness and calm. - 4
Feel yourself flowing stable energies from all parts of your being and concentrate balance while breathing cool calm breaths through your nose and out your lips. Focus while the tendencies to stumble arise, grasp your focus and brace from your core and your arches again. - 5
It is okay if you have to open your eyes to maintain balance. The more that you try the longer you will be able to perform this balancing act. And after time you will come to enjoy this way of centering. Relishing this new found quit strength.
