Premature Gray Hair - Likely Causes of Graying Hair

22
We are much more ready to accept, as part of the normal ageing process, a head of graying hair when we are approaching old age.
We are, however less ready to do so when our head of hair begins to go gray during our 20s and definitely not so ready during our teen-aged years.
A legitimate question that needs asking is: what are the causal factors of that condition? There is much evidence that substantiates the thesis below: Hair goes gray because of a chemical: Hydrogen Peroxide (a bleaching agent which all hair produces) overwhelming the naturally occurring development of the hair.
When this chemical reaction occurs, two things happen: 1.
the hair follicles are unable to do their job of repairing the damage caused and 2.
Melanin which gives natural color to the hair becomes depleted.
These two effects which are due to overabundance of the peroxide produced, result in hair becoming bleached from the inside out.
They become gray.
Now, it is time to highlight some of the causes of the above effects.
(a) This first point involves looking very briefly at the genetic basis of graying.
We all do have the same number of genes structured in similar ways but which confer a multitude of differences that define who and what we are.
Yes, we are, who we are as a result of our genes.
If and when there is a particular trait, e.
g.
graying hair and it has been found in a member/members of a first-generation of family members at a time when such hair should not have made their appearance (premature gray hair), the chances are much greater that later generations of members will also show that trait.
Such members with such graying conditions do have the genes that delivered the discolored hair.
In other words, our genes are very likely a very definite contributor to the graying process.
(b) Losing hair color before the age of 35 is what we do call premature graying.
Persons who generally are suffering from chronic colds and sinusitis; those using warm water to wash their hair, drying it with electric dryers and using hair dyes are much more prone to the graying condition.
(c) A lack of the vitamin B, iron, and iodine in your daily diet also result in discoloration.
(d) A faulty diet and stress-packed life are also major causes of such graying.
A faulty or improper diet has much greater and far-reaching effects beyond just the direct cause of discoloration.
Such a diet impacts quite heavily on your energy levels resulting in negative changes to your mood, skin, weight and hair.
A very simple measure for you to take to cancel the negative effects is to drink lots of water.
Also, you should combine your current cancelling measures as highlighted above with the eating of lots of fruits and vegetables to make certain that the body is adequately nourished with supplies of essential vitamins and minerals.
OK, I have highlighted a few of the causes of graying hair: your genetic make-up, faulty diet and a stressed-pack life and also some of the avoidance measures that you must take to prevent discolored hair.
Now, what options do you have when despite all of your work at avoidance, you still do have graying hair.
What can you do? Again, options are many but they all work within 3 broad activity areas: 1.
Use dyeing agents to change the color of the hair.
2.
Use wigs to cover the head of hair.
You can become very creative here because there are many wigs in the market.
3.
Accept what you have been given i.
e accept the gray you do have as just another color and continue living your life normally.
What I attempted to do here is give some causes of graying hair and what options you do have.
There is one crucial point that needs emphasizing here.
Natural graying is an end result that we all would at some time suffer from.
It is one of those things in life that happens to us all living persons at some time of our lives.
Because of the certainty of its occurrence,we would be better served if we create a mind-set of acceptance and not allow any scarring of our lives by what is so natural a process.
