  • Guide Review of Christopher Drummond Beauty’s Skin Prep

I was first introduced to Christopher’s Beauty line in 2008, where I had the opportunity to review his Saude Pele Radiance Booster.

I immediately fell in love with Saude Pele so you could only imagine how excited I was when I found out that the Christopher Drummond Beauty line has grown, and now he offers various makeup items for your eyes, lips and face. The bonus is that Christopher’s products are still natural, pure and organic so you don’t get any added toxins or chemicals. One of his newest products is the Christopher Drummond Beauty Skin Prep. When I found out that it was one of his purest products, and works double-time as a makeup primer and skin treatment I had to give it a test drive. So how did it do? Let’s break it down.

One of the first things I noticed about the product was the really wonderful scent. Skin Prep is infused with tons of natural ingredients, and the scent of Geranium, Tea Tree, Rosemary, Grapefruit, Clary Sage and Lavender essential oils give the product its wonderfully botanical fragrance. It made me feel like I was in the spa getting a facial, instead of in my bathroom. After getting past the fragrance the texture of the product was also very nice. The water-based formula was the perfect consistency, blended into my skin quickly, and left my face feeling silky and hydrated. The quick absorption made it easy to immediately apply my makeup, once I applied my facial SPF of course. So the only negative from Skin Prep was the lack of a built-in SPF, but it was easy to get over the missing SPF because I didn’t have to use a moisturizer. That’s right; Skin Prep is to be applied to clean dry skin because it works at nourishing and firming your skin while also giving you a more even overall complexion. So you can skip a step and save some money as well.

So it sounds like a great product overall, but did it actually make my skin look better while keeping my makeup in place? You bet! I tested Skin Prep daily for a week, and even though my skin is pretty good already I did see even more improvement in clarity and firmness. This was especially surprising since I didn’t use my firming moisturizer and DMAE serum the entire week, yet my skin was just as firm as if I had been using them all week. Skin Prep also helped minimize the look of the pores on my nose, which tend to drive me crazy, and it also kept my makeup on my face for the entire day. I actually tested Skin Prep with my favorite liquid foundation, Too Faced Amazing Face Foundation, and with mineral makeup also. Both times I did not have to touch-up all day, and my makeup looked fresh for at least 8 hours.

Overall I loved Skin Prep, and would definitely continue using it in place of my day moisturizer and DMAE serum. One of the best parts of Skin Prep is that it does not have Dimethicone, which is the ingredient in all other makeup primers that make your skin feel silky. This is also a key ingredient in K-Y Jelly. Christopher feels that it is not needed, and instead uses natural ingredients to give your skin that silky feeling. Never-the-less, Skin Prep has won me over and has found a permanent place in my morning skin care and makeup regimen.

The Bottom Line on Christopher Drummond Beauty’s Skin Prep

Skin Prep is a true double-duty beauty product, and thanks to Christopher you can say goodbye to your day moisturizer, anti-aging product and makeup primer. Instead say hello to beautiful skin and all-day makeup while feeling like you’ve been swept away to a luxury spa. Honestly I can’t think of a better way to start my mornings.
