Aging Skin Does it Have to Be Normal?

29
Did you know our skin is the largest organ in our body? Our skin provides protection to all the other organs, muscles, ligaments and bones.
Our skin helps to regulate our body temperature and provides insulation to our body.
If our skin was laid out like a rope it would be over 16 feet long.
Our skin protects our body from the environment.
When our skin cracks or breaks down it does not work effectively the protection is compromised.
This can lead to infections or possibly make us sick.
Thus, the need to properly care for our aging skin is great.
Aging skin begins at the moment of birth.
Aging skin looses elasticity or the ability to stretch.
The older we get the more elasticity our aging skin looses.
The blood flow to our aging skin is not as good as it was when we were younger.
As we age our skin also becomes thinner, easier to injure, and more difficult to heal.
Our aging skin, especially the areas exposed every day to the weather elements and the toxins in the air need to be protected and fed.
We eat and drink every day to feed and hydrate our body, but what do we do to feed our aging skin? Feeding and hydrating our aging skin is just as important! We worry about getting the right amount of sleep and exercise to take care of our body.
We worry about the type of food we eat and what we drink.
Do we worry that much about how we protect our aging skin? Most of us do not think any more about what we put on our skin than what we wear.
