How to Exercise the Face for Women Over Fifty

51

Instructions

1

Increase the muscle tone in your cheeks by doing the "vowel exercise." Hold your head straight, chin level, and pronounce the vowels (A, E, I, O, U and don't forget the sometimes used Y). Say each vowel in an exaggerated way, feeling the muscles of your cheeks and jaws tighten as you speak. Move your mouth distinctly as you pronounce each vowel out loud. This exercises the muscles around your mouth as well as your face.
2

Do exercises for the area around the eyes. The muscles around the eyes connect with the face. Women over fifty have a tendency to get saggy eyes and also lose muscle tone in the cheeks, causing the face to sag. Press your index fingers (pointing toward each other) just under the line of your eyebrows. Close your eyes and stretch the upper eyelid as tight as you can. Feel the muscles tighten all the way to your cheek bones.
3

Squeeze your eyes shut. Press your thumbs at the corner of your eyes while you rest your fingers on the top of your head. Push your thumbs toward your temples. These exercises around the eyes help restore definition to the face. Women can redefine cheekbones and the line of their jaw by doing face exercises 2 to 3 times each day.
4

Work on the bottom of your face. These exercises done with the tongue and thumbs improve the tone of lower face muscles and those under the chin. Take your thumb pads and put them under your chin with your fingers against your jaw bone. While you press your tongue against the roof of your mouth, push your thumbs from front to back under your chin. Go all the way to the back where the neck begins.
