Botox - Regain Your Youth

36
They say age is just a number and you're just as young as you feel, but whoever said that probably said it before there was the option of Botox to make you look as young as you feel.
Sometimes you do everything right- you enjoy a healthy diet, drink plenty of water and avoid the big no no's for healthy skin care like excessive alcohol usage, smoking and too much tanning.
And you even use sun block to get the mail but your face still betrays your age with frown lines around your mouth and crows feet around your eyes.
You feel young, you act young, you are mentally young but then you catch your reflection in the mirror and at just the right angle, and at just right light at just the right time of the day - you see your mother looking back from the looking glass- not you.
You don't need a face lift or anything drastic, just something to help ease the lines away from to many years of life that have left you not looking twenty anymore.
Botox injections have become a common household name and that is because more people than ever are looking at Botox as an alternative to the mythical fountain of youth.
Unlike cosmetic surgery, injections are simple, fast and won't break the piggy bank.
One of the most attractive aspects about this option is the fact that it is not surgery so there are no surgical risk factors to worry about and the majority of side effects are minor and easily fixable.
So how does it work? Botox is injected directly into the muscle to create a local effect that blocks the transmission between the nerve endings and muscle.
It takes about ten minutes in the doctor's office to do and the side effects can include redness at the injection site, droopy eyelids (up to 3%), muscle weakness (up to 2%) and facial pain or discomfort (up to 2%).
These are all mild reactions that are easily treated if they occur.
There are very few limitations regarding who is not a good candidate for Botox injections.
For example you shouldn't have Botox if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant soon or are currently breastfeeding.
As far as age goes you can be anywhere from 18 years old to 65 years old and you will see positive results from the procedure.
Another benefit to using Botox is the results are visible within three to seven days and the effects last about four months.
After you have received multiple injections however the muscle thins out and the results will last longer.
