Start The Day On A Healthy Note Helps Keep You Going

30
When someone is focused on improving their health and losing weight, aside from getting some type of regular exercise, controlling what is eaten on a daily basis is of utmost importance. To have success with your daily food menu, it helps immensely if you literally plan out the menu for the day/week.

By listing specifically what you are going to eat for all meals and snacks throughout the day, you will be less likely to consume something that would be considered unhealthy for your body.

However before attempting to tackle an entire day at once, it's important that you start with the very first meal of the day, breakfast. When you start your day on a healthy note, you are much more likely to want to continue this trend for the remainder of the day.

If you start the day with a hamburger, french fries, and an XL soda, then you've already set yourself up to fail, and it's an uphill struggle for the rest of the day. Even if you do happen to eat a healthy lunch and dinner, since you ate a 1,500 calorie breakfast, your total calorie count for the day will be well above your daily limit.

Take each meal as an opportunity to be healthy so that one builds onto the next. When you eat a healthy breakfast low in fat, sugar, and calories, you will then be more inspired to continue with the trend for lunch, and then finally for dinner.

Jam packing an enormous breakfast right at the start of the day is essentially the same as the hamburger, fries, and soda example. There's no need for pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, biscuits, toast, milk, and orange juice for one meal. That's just way too much food for one sitting. Sure once in a while it's ok to treat yourself to a little more than usual, however if losing weight is one of the top priorities on your list, then you will want to eat sensible meals not only for breakfast, but for each meal of the day. Think light, low calorie, low in sugar and fat content as possible.

Here are some breakfast ideas all around 300 calories to get you thinking of what you should consider:

- Oatmeal and raisins
- Whole wheat bagel with low fat peanut butter and strawberries
- Healthy cereal with low fat or skim milk with a banana
- Egg white omelet with olives, mushrooms, and tomatoes
- Fruit smoothie made to your liking
- Low fat yogurt with Grape Nuts (or other high fiber cereal)
- Cottage cheese with strawberries, peaches, or bananas
