How to Get a Slice Out of Your Golf Swing
- 1). Take your normal setup position and make a half-swing. Don't cock your wrists.
- 2). Check the position of the club. Does the toe point straight up? If not, you have rotated your forearms too much. Adjust your arm position so the toe points straight up, paying attention to how it feels.
- 3). Swing the club back down to the ball, checking that the club face is aimed squarely at your target.
- 4). Continue to make half-swings, checking that the toe of the club points straight up at the halfway point and the face is square at the bottom, until you can repeat this position with some consistency.
- 5). Try hitting shots with this half-swing. The ball should fly straight.
- 1). Identify your target line and place your golf ball on it. Set one plastic bottle beside the golf ball, about two inches on the other side of the target line. Place the second bottle about six inches behind the first, on a line parallel to the target line.
- 2). Take your normal setup position over the ball and make a normal swing. If you hit either bottle on the back swing or on the downswing, you have an outside-to-inside swing.
- 3). Replace the bottles and try again. When you no longer hit either of the bottles, you will have learned how to swing from inside the target line, rather than from the outside.
