For most males, baldness can be taken as a sign of unattractiveness, old age and infertility. There are no specific studies proving that the above mentioned are the causes for hair loss. But, it is a fact that people experiencing hair loss may soon lose their self-confidence along with losing their self-esteem. About 50% of women and 70% of males lose their hair at some point of their lifetime. There can be several causes of hair loss, but some common factors affecting hair loss includes hormones, genes, and age. Few years ago, males and females may have done some desperate attempts to regain the hair loss. In recent years, hair restoration has vastly improved. Hair transplant before and after has higher success rate depending that you have enough donor hair. Hair transplant does not have any major and long lasting side effects. Possible complications such as swelling and infection can be reduced after taking the medication which is provided after the procedure. A minor outpatient surgery which simply relocated the existing hair follicles from the donor area to the balding area is known as hair transplantation. The first step taken by the surgeon during this procedure is by removing a donor strip from the donor site. This donor site is usually located on the side or back of the scalp. Local anesthesia is administered to relieve any discomfort during the procedure. The surgeon of hair transplant removes a strip from the donor area and closes the opening with self-absorbable sutures.

The donor strip is further cut into three sizes of grafts such as the micro graft, the single follicular unit, and the modified follicular unit. The surgeons then isolate individual hair follicles from the donor strip and implanting them to the region of the graft. The grafts are inserted into mini slits and pre-cut micro which is designed strategically for lowering the hairline, improving the density of the existing hair and filling in the balding areas. Depending on the number of grafts, the procedure of hair transplant may take around 3 to 5 hours. Patients experience no pain after the hair transplant therefore, can resume their work.
