How To Get Rid Of A Uti

28
If you would like to know how to get rid of a UTI, you may not be aware that there are several home treatments you can try which may be sufficient to rid you of a mild infection altogether.

If the infection has lasted less than 24 hours and is "uncomfortable" rather than painful, it is quite safe to try home treatments and monitor the situation for a few hours. However, if you have had a UTI for more than a day or so and if the symptoms are painful and debilitating, then it is best to try a treatment which is guaranteed to work or the infection could potentially migrate to the kidneys, causing a more serious infection which could cause permanent damage.

For mild symptoms, you could try the following steps:-

* Drink plenty of water-around 6-8 glasses a day is ideal
* Use a heated pad or hot water bottle on the abdomen
* Allow air to circulate around the vaginal area, so avoid synthetic underwear and tight trousers
* Take a Vitamin C tablet and eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables to strengthen the immune system
* Urinate whenever you feel the need to, despite it being painful
* Take a warm bath to help alleviate the pain (no soaps or bubble baths)
* Drink a couple of glasses of unsweetened cranberry juice daily
* Take a mild painkiller
* Avoid eating sugary food as this will encourage the growth of bacteria

UTI's are caused by an overgrowth of bacteria within the urinary tract. Under normal circumstances, the "good" bacteria is able to naturally control any harmful bacteria which inadvertently a UTI occurs when the harmful bacteria multiplies to an extent where it can no longer be controlled without intervention and the symptoms of a UTI occur. If you were to visit a doctor and ask how to get rid of a UTI, you would very probably be prescribed antibiotics. Now whilst these kill off the bad bacteria, they do not distinguish between the different types and as a result, the good bacteria is also killed off. This means that once the antibiotics are finished and harmful bacteria is naturally reintroduced, the body has no natural defenses and the symptoms start all over again.

This is why over 70% of women who take antibiotics to get rid of a UTI find that they have a repeat infection within a few weeks

It therefore makes sense to equip the body with the strong defenses it needs to ward off a UTI naturally. This can be done by strengthening the immune system in order that the bad bacteria simply cannot survive.

It often surprises women to learn that treating a UTI naturally can have faster results than antibiotics. On average, antibiotics take around 5 days to take effect whereas you can be completely free of UTI symptoms within 24 hours by using only natural treatment.

Research repeatedly confirms that antibiotics are not the best way to treat urinary tract infections. However, for doctors faced with patients needing a fast solution, antibiotics are, quite frankly, a quick fix.

Natural methods can not only get rid of the infection faster than antibiotics, but also work in a way to enhance and strengthen the body's own natural healing abilities. The method which I recommend uses one simple tasteless ingredient and will begin to get rid of the pain within an hour and most people find that they are completely symptom-free within 24 hours (for many this is much less).
