- Educate yourself.
If you have worked for someone all your life, and now you are embarking on the journey to self employment, you need to change your mindset.
Otherwise you will always be an employee.
- Success leaves clues...
Look at what other successful people in your industry have done or are doing.
They are obviously doing something right or they would not be where they are, right! - Give yourself goals.
Successful people have BIG goals.
So do yourself a favour and think BIG - Make a plan.
The key thing here is to make a plan and FOLLOW IT.
You plan should follow your goals.
Be consistent in taking action.
Monitor your plans and reward your successes.
- Become a leader that people want to follow.
Encourage your team and others to also become leaders.
It is about accountability, being accountable for yourself and letting others be accountable for themselves.
The worst thing you can do is 'baby sit' new team members.
Encourage independence and leadership.
Great book to read on this is Stephen Covey, 7 Habits of Highly Successful People. - Network with your peers.
Going to your company events encourages networking, learning and entrepreneurship.
It also give you inspiration, motivation and ideas to do in your business.
You create links and partnerships that could be life changing.
It gives you the heads up on what is happening in your company, which if you are smart you can go back and put a campaign in ahead of the rest.
