Turn your house into a home by personalizing it. As we age, we may feel differently about our home than we originally intended. Making your house or apartment feel like home is key to feeling happy in your own space.

Stop talking to your unpleasant friends. Find new friends who are more joyful. Studies prove that smiling and laughing reduce wrinkles and help you to look younger. Spend time with those that make you laugh, rather than negative people who bring you down.

It is important to have fun! Age has its privileges and you should focus on them rather than worrying about lost youth. Enjoy your days and any other things life will bring you.

To prevent heart disease, eat less red meat and more fish. Some of the ingredients of red meat can clog your arteries, leading to heart conditions. Fish is known to have the opposite affect. So, to help you live a better and longer life, you may want to eat fewer meals containing red meat, and replace those with fish.

Take care and wear well-supported shoes to avoid falling down. Falling down can cause serious damage to aging bodies. Try walking at least three times a week for thirty minutes. Take supplements, get enough calcium, vitamin D, and try weight training to combat weakening of bones.

As retirement approaches you should consider starting a new hobby. Now that you have more free time and less obligations, you can start focusing on hobbies and interests that may have been pushed aside over the past couple years. Hobbies are a great way to get yourself out of your house.
