How to Do a Lace Weave

    • 1). Purchase a package of weave hair. The best weave hair suited to a lace weave is the Remy texture. Weave hair can be purchased at beauty supply stores that specialize in hair products, but typical drugstores do not always carry weave hair.

    • 2). Shampoo the natural hair and gently towel dry it.

    • 3). Braid the hair into cornrows. Achieve this by parting the hair into sections on the scalp. Beginning with one section of the hair, braid two stitches of hair at the beginning of the scalp. Add a third stitch by gathering a small piece of hair nearby and joining it with the original two. Do this continually, intertwining hair until you have one long braid running the length of the scalp. The entire braid will be attached to the scalp. Repeat this Step with the other sections of hair you parted.

    • 4). Place the bottom cap on top of the braided scalp. Using needle and thread specifically designed for hair weaving (you can find these items at hair supply shops as regular needle and thread won't do), affix the cap towards the front part the crown with a few stitches by piercing the needle through the cap, taking it around the braid and back through the cap.

    • 5). Provide coverage by securing the top cap to the scalp by using the same threading method as above, only this time, thread along the border of your head. Be sure to include your hairline, including those areas near your ears and along the nape of the neck.

    • 6). Style hair as desired. Maintain the hair with weave hair care products.
