How to Make Your Own Makeup Palette

    • 1). The first step to make your own makeup palette is to depot your eyeshadow, blush, face powder, etc. that you want to put into your palette. To do this you'll need to take a small knife and insert the tip in between the makeup pan and the plastic packaging. Then you gently lift up until the pan pops out. You might have to play with it a bit depending on how much glue was used to put it together.

      Be very careful not to:
      A. cut yourself.
      B. break the makeup.

If you absolutely can't get the pan out, try heating it. You can do this by setting it on the metal or ceramic part of a heated hair straightener for about 30 seconds or by holding it over a blow dryer for about 30 seconds. This should help loosen the glue.

    • 2). When you've removed all of your pans, get your DVD or CD case ready. If you're using a CD case you're going to have to remove the part inside the case that holds the CD. You can do this by gently pulling the two pieces apart. Be careful so you don't break the case in the process.

    • 3). Get your glue ready! If you're using a hot glue gun (my preferred glue method) get it heated up. Arrange the makeup how you want it to sit in your DVD case (on the flat side, of course) or in your CD case (on the side the CD would normally sit on).

    • 4). After you've gotten your makeup arranged how you want it to be, pick each piece up and add glue, then glue it down. Let it dry and that's how you make your own makeup palette.

    • 5). You can also add a cover if you wish. If you're using a DVD case to make your own makeup palette, simply slide your cover into the clear front, facing out. If you're using a CD case, slide your in cover where the CD booklet would normally go, facing out.

    • 6). If you wish, you can cut a piece of cardstock to fit into the opposite side of your case (In a DVD case this is where the DVD would go so you'll have to glue it over that. In a CD case, this is where the booklet would go so you can just slide it in.). On the piece of cardstock you can write down the colors and brands of the makeup you used so that you don't forget, then line it up with the colors in your palette. You could also print off labels and glue them to the cardstock to make it look a bit more professional.
