How to Wash a Glue-In Hair Weave

76
    • 1). Comb your hair with a wide-tooth comb to untangle any knots in your natural hair, as well as the extensions.

    • 2). Step into the shower and get your hair wet. Again, comb through it with the comb before washing your hair.

    • 3). Apply a generous amount of the mild shampoo to your hand. Gently, work the shampoo into a small lather on the top of your hair first. Instead of massaging the shampoo into your hair like normal, "pull" the soap from the top of your head through the length of the hair. Massaging the shampoo into your scalp can loosen the extensions.

    • 4). Comb the shampoo through the length of your hair using your fingers.

    • 5). Rinse the shampoo out of your hair.

    • 6). Apply a generous amount of conditioner to your hand. Conditioner is important to keep moisture in both your real hair and the hair extensions.

    • 7). Comb the conditioner through your hair--gently--using the wide-tooth comb. Leave the conditioner in for three minutes.

    • 8). Rinse the conditioner out of your hair.

    • 9). Pat-dry your hair with a towel. Although you can blow dry hair extensions, if you have synthetic hair, the hot air can cause the extensions to become brittle, dry and damaged.
