5 Makeup Products That Flatter Every Skin Tone
About.com Rating
For most of us, makeup shopping is fun and exciting. For many of us, it's time consuming and hard to completely commit to on a busy schedule. While there are staples in our beauty routine that we aren't letting go of anytime soon, it's always great to switch things up once in a while to break us out of our comfort zone. So what are some great products to try, that don't involve endless hours of shopping and testing at your local Sephora?
Here are my top 5 makeup products that flatter everyone. No, seriously, they do:
1. NARS Blush in "Orgasm": Yes I understand the name might give you a little natural flush in your cheeks every time you hear it, but it's kind of genius marketing, no? This blush is one of the most sought after shades from women of all skin tones, and I have personally used it on clients ranging from very fair to dark. It's peach undertones and gold shimmer give it just the right amount of highlight, and will leave your skin looking super fresh. The great thing? It now comes in cream blush, lipgloss, and nail polish. I'll take em' all!
2. MAC Lipstick in "Rebel": One of the most beautiful berry lipsticks, it actually can be a bit deceiving if you look at it without applying. While it looks super dark in the tube, it actually applies as a beautiful berry tone that can be sheered out to look like a natural stain, or layered for more powerful pigment. No matter what skin tone you are, if you're looking for a fresh and bright lipstick for Spring, this is definitely one to pick up the next time you are makeup shopping.
3. Laura Mercier Metallic Créme Eye Colour in "Burnished Copper": a beautiful, metallic cream eyeshadow that can be worn for a subtle bit of color or layered for more drama. Apply to the eyelid with your finger or brush and build the color by slowly adding more as you go. Also works as the perfect eyeshadow primer if you wish to blend powder shadow right on top.
4. Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer Highlighting Liquid in shade #10: Looking for a highlight? Look no further than his must-have product from Giorgio Armani Beauty. This happens to be one of my all-time favorite kit products that I've used on all skin tones. I typically mix it in with foundation to add a little shimmery glow, or press on the cheekbones with my fingers to add a highlight that looks natural. Another great tip? Use on the lips to add shimmer and shine!
5. Revlon ColorStay Eyeshadow in "Plum": Worn in a light sweep across the lid it enhances all eye colors and skin tones, and can be worn as a soft tone or blended for more impact. If you're not into wearing colored eyeshadow on the lid, apply on top of eyeliner for a nice and subtle change.
Whether you're looking for lipstick or blush, there's something for everyone. Now that is worth getting excited about!
