A Very Real Day in the Life of a Coach - Give Yourself Permission

21
I've talked about turning those garbage negative thoughts into positive little Jewels, and very recently, guess what?  I really got to practice exactly what I coach.
Some people seem to think that just because I'm a coach I don't have those very Real Days like everyone else!  Well, I'm here to tell you I do.
It was a pretty blah feeling day.
A major storm had rolled through Dallas the night before and all morning, the power was fluctuating, one dog was freaking out, I didn't get much sleep, I wasn't able to do the marketing I'd planned to do in the morning, I was looking at another project of cleaning up all the leaves, twigs and branches in the yard, and it just started off to be a blah kind of day.
I'm sure you can relate!  If not, are you really human?! All of us have those kind of days and what we do, what action we take, and how well we control the thoughts are what really matter.
My thoughts become my choice, a decision that I get to make as to how long I want to stay in the state that I'm in...
how long I want to have those thoughts of blah.
As a coach, fortunately these are all conscious thoughts and I know exactly where I am and have the ability to pull myself "out" any time I choose.
And, the most important thing is that you can do this too! When you're in a funk or a blah mood or angry or sad, you get to decide just exactly how long you will stay in that state, in that "mood" if you will.
If you need to stay there for a period of time then set the clock.
Seriously, set the clock and decide exactly how long you plan to stay that way.
Give yourself permission!  It's as simple as that.
So often we forget to just give ourselves permission to rest, to feel sad, to grieve or even to laugh.
If you just allow that part of you that needs that one thing to have it, you'll be a whole lot more at ease and at peace with yourself.
And then, when the time's up, Move ON! Get on with it!  Go do something different.
Change your physical location and go for a walk or go to another room.
You really can make it just that Easy! Remember folks, this isn't rocket science, it's just A Very Real Day with a little mind management!
