How to Preserve Cheese Dips

    • 1). Place the open container of cheese dip in a zip-top plastic bag.

    • 2). Squeeze all of the air out of the bag and then seal it closed with firm, even pressure. The bag should form a tight seal and prevent any air from entering and forming skin over the top of the dip.

    • 3). Refrigerate the cheese dip.

    • 4). Remove the cheese dip from the bag when you wish to eat it. If there is any skin on the top, gently skim off as much of it as you can with a spoon.

    • 5). Place the cheese dip in a microwave-safe bowl and heat the it for 30 seconds to 1 minute in the microwave. Continue to heat in 10-second intervals in the microwave until the desired consistency is achieved. You can also reheat the dip on the stove on low to medium heat.

    • 6). Stir the heated cheese dip rapidly with a spoon. If there are any lumps or cold spots in the dip, place it in the microwave or on the stove and heat for another minute until the dip is warmed through. Stir again with a spoon after reheating.

    • 7). Let the dip cool if you'd rather eat it cold.
