Green Tea - Nature"s Own Cancer And Heart Disease Cure

25
What do the Chinese know, or have known, for over 4,000 years about herbal remedies like Green Tea that have been almostlost to the rest of the world, that could be our salvation...
If you do even the basic research, you will soon find evidence of the Chinese using Green Tea for its medicinal purposes going back to the time that the Egyptians were building their first pyramids.
This article looks at the impact Green tea may well have on a number of chronic ailments so common in Western society, especially the Americans.
So, what can green tea do for you, and how does it do it? Well, it would all seem t point to a substance contained in some teas called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).
This is not only just a very powerful anti oxidant, but it also has properties that can cut down cholesterol, inhibit the formation of blood clots (Western society of course prefers rat poison for that!), would seem to be able to act as a cure for cancer, and can even search out and destroy cancer cells in the body.
Wow! What a powerful natural product, which begs the question - Why does green tea not get far more public awareness? So, let's look at a list of the most common ailments in the Western world, that have the highest mortality rate.
  • Cancer
  • Heart disease
  • High levels of bad cholesterol
  • Rheumatoid arthritis
Then look at some other afflictions, less deadly, but equally as debilitating to our lives
  • Obesity
  • Tooth decay
  • Headaches
  • Depression
  • Impaired Immune functions
  • Infections (food poisoning for instance)
  • Acne
Would you believe that every one of those issues are believed to respond to Green tea? Now, there is a French connection here as well, funnily enough.
Following similar dietary issues, there was some puzzlement over why the French, who were eating just as much fatty foods as their American counterparts, were nowhere near as obese because of it.
A first, the connection was made with the copious amounts of red wine that the French consumed with their foods, due to the presence of resveratrol, which apparently reduces the harmful effects of smoking and a fatty food intake.
For some time, researchers were giving red wine the same status almost as green tea its health promoting side effects ( as well as tasting better, and having other alcoholic side effect not found in green tea!).
However, further research showed that the EGCG content on green tea was found to be more than twice as powerful as resveratrol, which may explain why in another research, the incidence of heart disease amongst Japanese menis so much lower than their Western counterparts, even though Japan seems to be one of the last bastions for smokers.
So, it is hard to believe why more emphasis is not put on green tea when it comes to promoting the well-being of many of us in the Western world.
Perhaps we create our lifestyle habits as young people including drinking alcoholic drinks, eating fatty and usually 'convenience' foods, and put these values far ahead of a more controlled lifestyle resulting in a longer life.
Anyway everybody is entitled to live their lives (long or short) in whatever manner they choose, but at least armed with a few facts now on the benefits of green tea, more and more people will look more closely at either the basic green tea itself, or some form of green tea additives.
Now you know, the choice is yours...
