How to Roast Broccoli
- 1). Prepare the broccoli. Run the broccoli under cool water for one minute. Cut the bottom of the stem from the broccoli head. Leave only an inch of stalk remaining at the bottom of the head. Cut each floret off the head of the broccoli. The florets are the small clusters that make up the head of broccoli.
- 2). Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
- 3). Place 1/4 cup olive oil into a bowl. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper. Mix the ingredients thoroughly.
- 4). Place the broccoli in the bowl and stir so that each floret is evenly covered with the olive-oil mixture.
- 5). Put the broccoli on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. The ends of the broccoli should be crisp.
