Free to Forgive
As deeply difficult as this may feel on occasion, forgiveness of ourselves and forgiveness of others is entirely possible and indeed a necessity to enable us to take our power in our own lives.
The act of forgiveness enables us to release ourselves from the disempowerment of the past.
It enables us to take back our power.
It helps to secure for us our freedom from those parts of ourselves that do not serve us.
It helps to release us from others who we perceive have hurt us.
Forgiveness is an act of the highest soul work and enables our soul to be untainted and unencumbered In forgiving ourselves, we are well placed to forgive others.
In forgiving others it is more possible to love others completely as they are.
Forgiveness of others is the greatest gift of liberation we can give ourselves.
Forgive yourself, because as you and I both know the anger, pain, and hurt does not serve us, it only eats at us.
We stop being whole.
It is important to bring closure to the anger, pain, hurt and release in order to preserve the wholeness of ourselves.
It is an act that can completely lead to the liberation of negative energies from our lives.
Forgiveness is an act that will liberate us psychologically and physically also.
Time and time again many of us can link our illness back to some deep feelings of negativity and to some extent hatred we have of others.
I know for instance that when I am under or have been under extreme stress I become ill, my body is filled with negativity and it decides it has had enough, it lets me know, knocks me out with a sore throat, a blocked nose, fever, bodily aches etc.
I know too that I have been in a place where I have had feelings of strong dislike of people and where that has been my focus there have been times when I have not been able to sleep, eat or think well.
In this instance forgiveness is the key to accessing states of well being.
Forgiving someone does not mean that you are condoning their behaviour, it does not mean that what they did to you was right.
It means that you are saying to yourself that you will no longer let that person have the control over your life that they once had.
It means that you are taking your life back and deciding to value who you are.
It means that you will begin to respect yourself and in so doing teach other people how to respect you.
Because the bottom line is, you have every right to demand respect.
Having deep resentments of other people really only serve to bring you down, to bring your energies down, it's like burning the energies of your soul for no real ultimate benefit to you or anyone else.
Changes 1.
What behaviours do you know you need to change? 2.
Why is it important that you change these behaviours? 3.
What are the benefits of changing these behaviours? 4.
If these behaviours are not changed what are the consequences of not changing your behaviours?
