PTSD Pushes Away When We Contemplate How Great God Is

23
Visualize if you will, yourself in a gondola paddling up stream.
Your boat is beautiful, but you do not seem to be getting any steam.

The destination has not been determined, but pursued with determination.
This specific strategy of going nowhere fast is typical of a PTSD reservation.

We who have had trauma paddle in our mind back to it several times.
By doing so we reinforce sorrow; which proliferates and confines.

A tip to share is to stop this old behavior that does not serve us well.
It only steers us like being caught in a whirlpool, making our head to swell.

The response to this suggestion may be easier said than done.
Once we let go of the oars that control us, the healing has already begun.

Now we are freely floating, not floundering in this stream of life.
We can make our heart to open to forgiveness that will relieve our strife.

Now with a new set of thinking we can change the blues tunes.
It is like rearranging an informal table setting properly with forks and spoons.

There has to be a deliberate desire to manifest positive thoughts, you see.
It comes from faith and trust in God to make known the path for you and me.

Then we start on this road to connecting to our Higher Power, Jesus is mine.
The answers we seek will be revealed in the most appropriate time.

When we allow that Universal energy to push us, PTSD will loose its power too.
No longer will we be victims to our circumstances that made us blue.

Counting the blessings of each day is the start to healing from within.
Cleansing our hearts and minds with Source's power allows new life to begin.

When we concentrate on being kind to others our mind will start to reorganize.
We will be able to experience emotions other than anger and those that criticize.

The ability to see beyond our pain and suffering comes with gratitude.
This will bring our lives a new sense of purpose other than a plain platitude.

Witness the difference of the song, €How Great Thou Art€ sung by Elvis.
Compare it to a singer who is just performing the song, more or less.

What is being described is the attitude put into the emotion of praising.
We need to sing praises from our hearts opened for benefits to be blazing!
