70
So you want to learn how to establish rapport? Well I can help you with that.
Follow my 5 tips exactly and apply them to daily conversation and you will find people trusting you a whole lot more and people wanting to be around you trying to get your approval.
Tip 1: Eye contact Before you even start the conversation you need to display interest in another person.
We as human beings can instinctively feel when another persons eyes lay upon us.
(Ever had that paranoid feeling that someone was looking at you? Chances are people are.
) Use eye contact to show others that you are ready for a conversation and that you are interested in them and want to get to know them better.
Tip 2: Gauging At the startup of the conversation you need gauge their facial expression and posture.
Mimic them without it being blatantly obvious.
Don't go out of your way to do this either, it should be more natural then anything.
Tip 3: Pacing Match your breathing with their breathing.
Make it so that when they inhale you inhale with them and when they exhale you exhale.
It's difficult to master however once you've got it down it's very effective.
Tip 4: Matching of phrases Pay attention to what the other person is saying and repeat back to them a small portion of what they said.
For example: "I like to go out for picnics I think they are fun.
" Now you would say, "Picnics are definitely fun there's so much you can do! Where do you like to go for picnics?" You responded using words she already used and then at the end gave her the chance to respond and further explain her joy for picnics.
When you use the words she has already used in your sentence she immediately relates to what you are saying and has interest.
These words are called keywords.
Tip 5: Tone Match your tone with her tone.
Don't go over the top or be obnoxious just make it subtle.
Subtlety is the key here.
Make her feel relaxed and open up to you and people tend to do this when you are on the same wave-length with them.
