How to Prepare a Pre-Cooked Canned Ham
- 1). Combine the maple syrup, mustard and cloves (if desired) together in a small bowl to make the marinade.
- 2). Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
- 3). Remove the canned ham from the can and place it in a baking pan.
- 4). Brush the ham with the marinade.
- 5). Cook the canned ham for 15 to 20 minutes per pound or until a meat thermometer registers at least 140 degrees F when inserted into the center of the ham.
- 1). Preheat your oven's broiler.
- 2). Cut the canned ham horizontally into 8 oz. steaks or slice into 1-inch thick cuts.
- 3). Arrange the ham steaks in a baking pan. Brush the steaks with the marinade.
- 4). Broil the steaks for five minutes on one side.
- 5). Flip the ham steaks and brush with more marinade. Broil for 3 to 5 more minutes or until a meat thermometer registers 140 degrees F when inserted into the meat.
