How to Cook a Ribeye Steak in Cast Iron
- 1). Place the cast-iron pan in the oven and set to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2). Coat the ribeye with olive oil and season to taste with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- 3). Remove the pan from the oven and place over high heat on the stove top.
- 4). Sear both sides of the ribeye for 30 seconds or until it has a golden-brown, caramelized color. Place in the oven.
- 5). Roast the ribeye for two minutes, turn and continue cooking for two more minutes. This brings the temperature of the ribeye to medium-rare -- add one minute of cooking time to each side for medium, and two minutes on each side for well-done.
