Is Turbulence Training Only a Fly-By-Night Thing?

One of the newest and most popular methods for losing weight today is turbulence training. In the world of weight loss, there is always a more innovative, quicker, better method of losing undesired pounds and unattractive fat. Oprah usually has the mastermind of the newest fad on her show, and all of a sudden your junk email filter is filled with promotions for the new product. Three months later, a new person appears on the show, with a new diet, a new supplement, a new metabolism booster, and the spam filters start screaming once again.

This begs the question: "Is turbulence training just another fad in the never-ending cycle?" To discover the answer, one needs to know just what turbulence training is, exactly, and what it is not.

Turbulence training, according to the programs founder, Craig Ballantyne, is interval training with dumbbells, and resistance training using one's own body weight, designed specifically for quick fat loss. It is designed to burn calories not only during workouts, but also between workouts, and can be done from the comfort of your home, without joining a health or fitness club or using high-dollar machines. All that is needed is an exercise ball, some dumbbells, and maybe a chin-up bar if you are very strong, and a bench to incline your feet. This can be done in 3 short workouts per week.

What turbulence training is NOT, is even more important than what it IS. It is not a dietary supplement, an extract from some plant in the Amazon Jungle whose secret has suddenly been discovered, and it does not involve long, time-consuming cardio workouts that do very little to lose your belly fat. It does not involve endless ab exercises, or high-repitition, low-weight training which supposedly get you 'cut' or 'toned'. It is not a 'miraculous cure', the Holy Grail of shortcuts to weight and fat loss.

Turbulence training is a quick fat-loss program that involves several body parts into each exercise, lifting moderately heavy weights for a short period of time, with fewer repetitions. It helps build muscle at the same time as you lose body fat, without the need for gym memberships, expensive weight machines or home gyms, or costly supplements that supposedly burn fat and increase metabolism, but in reality never do. It is a program that involves hard work 30 minutes a day, three times a week, that combined with a sensible diet plan will drop unwanted fat quicker than any program on the market today.
