How to Boil a Whole Frozen Lobster Without Thawing
- 1). Add up the weight of whole frozen lobster you plan to cook. Fill a large pot with a half-gallon of water for every pound of frozen lobster. Salt liberally, approximately 1/4 cup of sea salt per gallon of water.
- 2). Bring the water to a full rolling boil, over high heat. Place the frozen lobster or lobsters in the pot, and remove it from the heat.
- 3). Time the lobsters as they rest in the hot water. One or two normal-sized lobsters, 1 1/2 lb. or less, will require 10 minutes to heat through. If you wish to reheat a third or fourth lobster at the same time, add five minutes for each. For more than four lobsters, use a second pot.
- 4). Remove the lobsters from their pot. They may be eaten now as if they were fresh boiled, although their texture will not be as fine. Alternately, shuck the lobsters and use the picked lobster meat as an ingredient in your favorite recipe.
