If you have signed your child up for kickboxing classes and your little one is about to take their kickboxing skills to a competition level; preparing for their first competition can be nerve wracking on any parent. This is because these kickboxing competitions are a big deal not only for your child but for his instructors and everyone involved. If your child is excited for their first kickboxing competition but you are nervous about sending them to one of these competitions for the first time, there are a few things you will need to do to help your child be prepared for this big event. As their parent you will want to make sure that they are completely prepared for their big competition and that their gyms bags are filled with all of the things they will need to get through the day.

First, you will obviously want to make sure that they have all of their equipment and all of the gear they will need for the day. Make sure everything is clean and disinfected before putting it in the bag. You will also want to include some warm socks and sandals in the bag as well. Even though your child will be competing barefoot; sometimes the floors get gold and they will need something to keep their feet warm and something thats easy to get on and off which is why many kids will wear socks and sandals instead of tennis shoes. There are also many kids who will get cold and want to wear sweats during their down time.

You will also want to make sure that you pack lots of water for your child to drink during the day. It is important that they stay hydrated and that they have plenty of water to sip on all through the day; they should be consistently sipping not just chugging water whenever they're thirsty. Along with this water make sure that you pack light and healthy snacks. Great options are granola bars, oatmeal, granola and bananas. Your child will likely need some snacks to keep their energy up throughout the day; but you will want to make sure that these snacks are light and healthy.

Finally, make sure that you have a first aid kit with you or in your child's bag. If they get a cut or scrape during competition you will need to be able to clean and cover that cut right away before their kickboxing match can resume. It may be hard to track down a first aid kit so its always a good idea to pack a small one of your own. With these important things in tow you will find that both you and your child will be better prepared for their first big kickboxing competition.
