Goals and Plans
Over the years much has been said and written on these subjects.
Much of the advice seems complex and involves a tremendous amount of time.
It doesn't have to be that way at all! Just follow along:What is your current situation? Satisfied? Why or why not? Write it down in one or two sentences, please.
Ifyour satisfied; how will you keep it so? If not what would be a better situation? Again write it down, either way, in one or two sentences.
If not adjust and revise (go back to step 2).
If yes; make a habit (this takes a minimum of 21 days of repetition) of doing the things that got you here.
Think through all you've done to make it this far.
Congratulate yourself on your accomplishments.
Reset the bar(goal).
Go for more and better, you have proven you can do it! These 10 simple steps ( not necessarily easy tasks ) give a simple outline to accomplish a goal in any facet of life.
Remember, there are no limits to what you can do, only limits on the time you have to do it.
Much of the advice seems complex and involves a tremendous amount of time.
It doesn't have to be that way at all! Just follow along:
- How long will what you have written take to accomplish?
- Depending on the time, divide it by 4.
- In period # 1 write down 3 or more things you must do to get started under your statement from question 2.
- Given the time allowed for period # 1 can you accomplish those 3 things? If yes, continue, if not allow more time for period # 1, but do not adjust the time you established in question # 3.
- Period #2 on the time line must be devoted to perfecting what you started in Period 1.
So continue to do that which you decided to do in period # 1. - Period # 3: time to assess your progress.
Take 5-10 minutes to judge your effectiveness.
Give yourself a grade on each task you outlined in period # 1.
If not adjust and revise (go back to step 2).
