When Money Can"t Buy Us Happiness and Love, What Can?

42
  • Does your life feel like one long workday after another?
  • Does your life feel like one big pressure cooker, ready to explode any moment, or you feel like you are already there?
  • Are you fed-up with working long hours, never feeling caught up, appreciated, or satisfied?
When one is young, it is very easy to fall into the trap of identifying with one's work.
Cultural and social conditioning have made us buy into the notion that we have to work for our money, that work is our ticket to the fulfillment of all of our desires.
The harder we work, the more successful (by whose standards?) we will be; the more successful we are, the more money we will have.
The more money we have, the happier, more fulfilled, joyful and gratifying our life will be.
Are you getting it? WORK IS NOT YOUR LIFE - it is just ONE aspect of your life.
There is much more to life than just your career or business.
Satisfying and fulfilling relationships, service to the community, a hobby or a dream that you like to pursue but are putting on the back-burner for the day when "you have made it".
Let me tell you, Dear Reader, this day will never come.
It can't because MONEY IS NOT THE SOURCE OF YOUR HAPPINESS - Although money is coming to you as a direct result of your work, money is not the source of your happiness.
The way you spend your energy and your time is the real source of your happiness! Money itself has no intrinsic value.
Money represents only a symbol for the exchange of energy you put out.
YOU, the totality of you, BODY, SOUL AND SPIRIT, IS THE CAUSE AND THE SOURCE OF YOUR inner peace, happiness, fulfillment.
Don't wait until a wake-up call in the form of a personal crisis in your life before you begin reevaluating your life.
THE SOLUTION: Put yourself on top of your to-do list.
I forgot who said it, but it makes sense.
"An hour spent in reflection every week is more efficient than working eight hours a day".
Begin with small steps, if you have to.
Ask yourself questions like:
  • What is the return on my investment for my time and my energy?
  • Do I feel truly fulfilled and satisfied?
  • What do I really want in life?
  • Am I expressing my special gifts and talents: am I following my dreams and visions, my life's purpose?
  • Take stock of what positive essences (energies) you already are experiencing in your life and which ones you are missing.
No matter what anyone else is telling you, teaching you, or wants you to believe will make you happy, rich, or else, following the path of essence (energy) is the key to a happier, healthier and more fulfilling life
