Are You Driving in the "Fog of Life"?

62
On Saturday January 26, 2013, I had a very powerful experience at 6:30 am.
I got up at 6:00 am and got ready to go workout at the gym that fateful morning.
I packed my bag, opened the front door and was literally in shock at the sight in front of me: there was very thick FOG outside and I could barely see my car parked in the driveway.
I was still feeling sleepy and thought that I would be fine driving.
You have to understand that I never drove in the fog before this day so I didn't know what I was about to experience.
As I pulled out of the driveway, I turned on my headlights and could barely see 20 feet ahead of me.
I kept driving slowly until I reached the first stop sign on my street.
I looked around before turning left and I could not see much.
I took a leap of faith and kept driving, praying in my heart and asking my guardian angels to clear the roads and help me see.
I just wanted to get to the gym safely.
A coupled of blocks later, I reached the first traffic light which looked very blurry from a distance but fortunately I could see the red and green lights as they lit up.
I got scared.
I was freaking out.
I was afraid because it was very dark; it appeared as if all of the streetlights were turned off.
At that point, I thought about turning back and going back home since I wasn't too far from my house.
I still had 25 minutes of driving to get to the gym.
Somehow, I kept going with fear in my heart.
I called upon GOD himself and asked him to help me get to the gym safely and protect me as He has always protected me in life.
I heard a voice; whether it was my own or GOD's voice, I am not sure but it said, "fear not" so I kept going.
I just kept driving slowly with faith until I finally reached my destination safely.
It took a deep breath when I got to the gym, I couldn't believe that I made it.
I was tempted several times to turned back and go back home.
I made to my destination but it wasn't without fear, doubt, lack of trust; I had negative thoughts coming through my mind but I kept hearing:" fear not " so I listened and trusted the voice.
I couldn't help but relate my fog's experience to life.
It is such a perfect metaphor for life.
We all drive in the "fog of life"by living in the unknown, by not knowing what tomorrow will bring, by being scared along the way, by praying to reach our destination safely, praying to be protected from the darkness.
We doubt along the way, we even give up sometimes.
We want to know what is ahead of us, but it is only revealed to us when we need to know, and for some of us it can be very frustrating.
We always get what we need when we need it because GOD doesn't make mistakes and everything happens in divine order.
One of the things that I have been working on lately is to SURRENDER.
To surrender completely to the will of GOD, to surrender to life, to surrender the outcome of my desires and not try to figure out exactly like a control freak how everything is going to turn out.
What a beautiful way for GOD to teach me how to walk with him in faith and trust.
I am so grateful for that foggy experience, so grateful.
As you are moving through your life's journey, I invite you to think about all the moments when you doubted, when you lacked faith, when you did not surrender 100% to GOD as you asked for what you wanted.
If you are a control freak, you know what I am talking about, you do not feel like you can move forward, or do anything because you are always missing pieces to the puzzle of life.
Letting go might be the most difficult thing you can do but it will liberate you and set you free.
You might have heard of the saying; "we are on earth school".
If that is the case, your "teachers" will not tell you what the answers to your quizzes and exams are, if they did you would not learn anything.
Life is beautiful, it can be challenging at times, it can be very difficult, but always ask yourself when you face a specific challenge: Do I trust GOD in this matter 100%? Am I surrendering the outcome of this challenge? If not, why? If you choose not to surrender, from my own experience, you will dwell in the land of worry, fear, anger, guilt, frustration and get limited results, feeling like you keep hitting the wall, and running on the treadmill of life on a road to Nowhere.
You are the co-creator of your life with GOD.
You have your role to play in the process of creation, and it is to choose your thoughts, choose your feelings, choose your actions to move towards your goals, and most importantly choose to surrender the outcome and attempting to control what things will look like, how they will show up.
Allow GOD to do his part.
It is only when you are lovingly detached and fully surrender the outcome, from a place of love, joy and happiness in the present, not in the past or the future that miracles happen easily in your life.
The question is: Are you willing to trust to the last breath and move through the "fog of life" with only 20 feet of visibility at a time? The results that you are getting in your life are merely the results of your own thoughts, and your ability to trust GOD in your daily life.
The choice is yours.
